Updated on June 4, 2024, by Jenna Amore: Mining remains a popular activity for adventurers seeking valuable ores and minerals in Palia. Recent updates to the game have altered the rarity and occurrence of ore nodes, reshaping the landscape of popular mining locations. These changes reflect the developers' commitment to responding to player feedback and continuously refining the game to enhance the overall mining experience. As the game grows and adapts, staying informed about the best places to mine is crucial for maximizing resource-gathering efforts and gains.

It is an unwritten rule in Palia that players should be unselfish when collecting loot. As long as they hit a node at least once, they can collect the mineral and mine XP when it breaks. That being said, consider mining in groups or disclosing a node's location to others in the chat so that everyone can get a fair share!

1 Home Lot

Mineral: Stone

Palia: Best Locations For Mining (2)
  • Map: Home Lot
  • Requires: Makeshift Pick

The first place many players turn to when collecting stone and building their mining skills is their home. Easily travel home by walking or gliding through the gated archways around two popular hunting grounds: Chapaa Crossing in Kilima or south of The Outskirts in Bahari Bay. There are plenty of stone ores surrounding each player's property, each of varying sizes. There are small, medium, and large stone nodes, each of which offers different yields of stone and flint.

These ore nodes are required to be cleared so that players can build decorative houses and crafting stations on their property. Unfortunately, unlike the nodes that can be found in Kilima or Bahari Bay, the stone nodes at the home lot do not respawn after being mined. Players must look elsewhere when every stone has been mined around their house.

2 Hill & Cliff Bases

Mineral: Stone

  • Map: Kilima and Bahari Bay
  • Requires: Makeshift Pick

There are stone ore nodes littered everywhere on all maps of Palia. Stone and flint collected from these nodes are common requirements for crafting furniture, equipment, and tool upgrades. At mining level two, players can purchase the Basic Smelter recipe to craft stone bricks.

Players can typically find stone nodes along the bases of cliffs and hills in both Kilima and Bahari Bay. In Kilima, locations such as Leafhopper Hills and Fisherman's Lagoon have hills where stone nodes spawn. Bahari Bay is also full of hills and cliffs, especially in areas like Proudhorn Pass, Pulsewater Plains, and the Hideaway Bluffs. Additionally, players can collect stone and starstones after breaking other ore nodes.

Clay is another resource that is crucial for crafting furniture and skill stations. Clay ore nodes can only be found in Kilima, scattered along the southern border of the map. The body of water along the southern shore is known as Kilima Lake. Compared to the other ore nodes, clay nodes are an orange-red color. The nodes can especially be found in and around Fisherman's Lagoon.

She is Badruu's wife and the mother to Nai'o and Auni. Delaila is often found at the Daiya Family Farm or Zeki's General Store. Gift it to her daily to raise friendship levels and unlock discovery quests.

4 Kilima Coastline

  • Map: Kilima
  • Requires: Makeshift Pick

Another common place players can find clay nodes is the coast of Kilima Lake. In areas like Remembrance Beach and Gillyfin Cove, the clay ore nodes can be found near the sand or water. Compared to other nodes, clay nodes only spawn in one size. Depending on the type of pickaxe they are using, the ore will take anywhere from two to four hits to break and can yield five to seven clay.

In addition to ceramic, clay is also useful for crafting smoke bombs for hunting bugs. Along with other accessible materials like fur and fabric, players must contribute one clay for each group of smoke bombs they'd like to craft. Some smoke bombs will prevent bugs from being alerted by the player's presence, while others slow down the bug's speed so they will be easier to catch. Bugs like the Brushtail Dragonfly, Garden Mantis, and Princess Ladybug can be found near this popular mining location.

5 Southern Kilima Village

Mineral: Copper

Palia: Best Locations For Mining (7)

Copper ore nodes spawn in multitudes in Kilima. It can be mined with a makeshift pick, but upgraded picks will break the node much quicker. Players will find copper ore nodes in all different areas of the map but will have the easiest time farming copper ore if they stick to the hills southeast of Kilima Village. Players can meld copper ore into copper bars for crafting furniture, equipment, tools, and skill stations, or used as gifts. Najuma and Sifuu often request copper ore and copper bars for their weekly gifts.

The copper ore nodes also have a rare secondary drop. There is a small chance that players will find one to three silver ore from medium (15%) and large (25%) copper ore nodes. Similar to other minerals, silver ore can be used to craft silver bars for their crafting projects. Breaking open a node with silver ore can also reward players with a chance at catching a valuable bug known as the Proudhorned Stag Beetle.

Mineral: Iron

Palia: Best Locations For Mining (10)
  • Map: Bahari Bay
  • Requires: Standard Pick
  • Secondary Drop: Gold Ore

After a player reaches mining level three and upgrades to at least a standard pick, they can begin mining iron ore from nodes in Bahari Bay. Fine and exquisite picks can break iron ores easily if players can upgrade their picks further. Iron ore nodes spawn in lower quantities than stone and copper nodes, so players should stick to the area behind Hodari and Najuma's house and the areas surrounding the Pavel Mines as well as inside them. At level four, players can purchase the recipe for the iron bar for crafting and gifting.

Iron ore nodes also have a secondary drop of gold ore. There is a 7.5% chance of encountering gold ore from a medium iron ore node and a 15% chance from a large one. Craft a gold bar after purchasing the recipe from Hodari at mining level seven. Gold bars sell for 2,000 gold a piece. There is also a small chance of encountering a Scintillating Centipede from a node containing gold ore.

9 The Flooded Fortress

Mineral: Palium

Palia: Best Locations For Mining (13)
  • Map: Bahari Bay
  • Requires: Fine Pick

Palium ore nodes are hard to come by. To mine palium ore, a player must first reach mining level six and upgrade to a fine pick or an exquisite pick (at level nine). The best places to find palium ore nodes are the outer corners of the Flooded Fortress. At mining level six, players can purchase the recipe for palium bars, which are used to craft exquisite tools and different types of furniture.

Considering how difficult it is to find palium, players should make sure to let others know about its whereabouts so that everyone can hit the node and earn their share of palium ore. Many find that using fireworks or flares can help others locate ore nodes more easily. It may be considered a beginner tip, but everyone should remember to use their resources wisely - especially when it comes to palium - no matter their progress in Palia.

10 Proudhorn Pass

Mineral: Palium

Palia: Best Locations For Mining (14)
  • Map: Bahari Bay
  • Requires: Fine Pick

Thanks to recent game updates, palium ore nodes are more plentiful in Bahari Bay. Patch update 0.172 added over 60% more palium ore nodes to the map. This ensures that players can feel comfortable mining on their own without hindering the progress of others looking for the rare mineral on the server. Proudhorn Pass, located in the center of the top half of Bahari Bay, has cliffsides and hills where palium nodes can be found.

With a fine pick or an exquisite pick, players can expect it to take three to eight hits to break open the palium node and can get anywhere from one to ten palium ores from it. Considering this mineral's intended rarity, breaking palium nodes will grant players higher EXP gains than mining other nodes.
