In truth, Pokemon Evolution in Quest isn't all that different to other games - it certainly isn't as different as catching and recruiting Pokemon as allies, which in Pokemon Quest is accomplished through cooking and careful use of the various ingredients and drops in Pokemon Quest. If you want to know more about what to cook to catch your favourite Pokemon, check out our Pokemon Quest Recipe Listand Cooking guideand our page on how to get more cooking pots to cook with.

Leveling up your Pokemon is vital in Pokemon Quest, because the higher the level of your Pokemon the more effective they'll be in expeditions. On this page we're going to break down how leveling up and evolution works in Pokemon Quest, plus list the Pokemon Quest Evolution Levels for every Pokemon - so you'll know exactly when each will evolve. We'll also clean up the confusion around Eevee Evolutions. Got it? Let's do it...

Pokemon Quest Evolution guide: Leveling Up and Evolving Pokemon

Once you've caught the Pokemon you're after, your next step is to ensure those Pokemon are fighting fit and ready for you to tackle expeditions. Here's the basic information: Pokemon get stronger and level up as you send them on expeditions and as they gain experience as fighters through their exploits on expeditions.

In a second we're going to run downwhat level every Pokemon evolves at in Pokemon Quest, but before we do let's talk about that level up method.Expeditions take time, so be prepared to do some waiting out in the real world while exhibitions are ongoing.

Every Pokemon still has a level as they do in other Pokemon games, and experience points (EXP) are gained as you tackle expeditions with Pokemon. When a Pokemon levels up, its Attack and HP (Hit Points / Health) will rise, as you'd expect. This is a streamlined system of character progression, but this much of it is the same as in other Pokemon games. As far as we can tell, the levels at which each breed of Pokemon evolves tracks quite closely to the evolution level from other games, too.

Aside from heading out on expeditions, you can also put a Pokemon through 'Level-Up Training' - and that does exactly what the name suggests. Only one Pokemon can gain experience at a time from this method, and the cost for putting a Pokemon into level up training is that you'll have to sacrifice another Pokemon in exchange. If you exchange a Pokemon of the same species, that'll give you a greater EXP gain than if it's a random, unrelated Pokemon.

Leveling up through expedition experience and EXP gain is essentially the same as the other games, then, but then there's the question of Pokemon who evolve through other means in the other games in the series...

In Pokemon Quest, the process is a bit easier than the mainline games to evolve Pokemon with elemental stones or trading. Instead of hunting down specific items, you simply level up the Pokemon and they'll evolve. The exact level depends on the Pokemon--for example, Kadabra evolves into Alakazam in the late 30s--but rest assured that you won't have to buy any elemental stones from the in-game store to evolve your favorite Pokemon.

Pokemon Quest Evolve Levels list: what level does my Pokemon evolve?

Given that the vast majority of Pokemon evolutions are controlled by the Pokemon level, you simply evolve them up by gaining experience points and gaining Pokemon levels. As you go through this process, every Pokemon that can evolve has its own evolve levels. This will also help you to unlock and learn additional special moves for your Pokemon, including helping to determine what moves can be learned from the Move Learner menu option.

If you want to know what level Pokemon evolve, you need look no further than the main Pokemon games - the Pokemon evolution levels in Pokemon Quest broadly correlate to the evolution levels in the main games.

That means that to evolve a Machop into Machoke, you'll need to get it to level 28. If you want to evolve Tentacool into Tentacruel, you'll need to get it to level 30. To get Digglet to turn into Dugtrio, you'll need to hit level 26. These are all the same Pokemon evolution points as in Pokemon Sun and Moon - so for the correct evolution points, hit up the Sun and Moon Pokedex.

A level 26 Abra, for instance, will evolve as soon as it hits level 27 - as it should've evolved at level 16.

Evolving Eevee: Picking an Eevee Evolution in Pokemon Quest

The only enigma at this point is Eevee. How will the game choose between Eevee's three evolutions, or will the players get to choose which of Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon to get?

It took a while for fans to nail it down, but it's now been discovered that your Eevee evolution will be determined by the Attack (ATK) and Health/Hit Points (HP) values of your Eevee.Unlike earlier suggestion, your Eevee's nickname or the slot your Eevee is stored in do not impact your Eevee Evolution.

You can manipulate the ATK and HP values by using stones - and on a high-level Eevee - say at level 35, one level away from evolution - you'll have some solid slots to put stones into. This will let you manipulate the ATK and HP values in order to get the Eevee Evolution you want. Here's what you'll need for each:

  • ForVaporeon, ensure your Eevee's HP is higher than its Attack when it hits Level 36.
  • ForFlareon, ensure your Eevee's ATK stat is higher than its HP when it hits Level 36.
  • For Jolteon, use slots evenly to ensure the Eevee has closely balanced HP and ATK stats when it hits level 36. The stats don't need to be exactly matched, but you do need to get as close as you possibly can - within around 50 points should work fine.

Eevee Evolutions always happen at level 36, so be careful what setup you have for each Eevee when it's at level 35 and about to boost one more level.

If you're looking for a power boost beyond evolution and leveling up, remember to use Power Stones. These special stone items dan be equipped to each Pokemon's Power Charm to boost their Attack and HP stats - and that will help them when they're out on expeditions.

As Pokemon level up and evolve, they'll sometimes earn additional slots where you can equip new Power Charms. On top of that, completing expeditions will also earn you new power stones - be sure to use them!
